ABOUT ME
A Thousand Words Photography by Jill Amey began in 1999. I received my degree from Samford University in Psychology, but thankfully my longtime passion for photography became my career! I love to create unique art and priceless memories for families. My husband and I have two amazing grown daughters, a wonderful son in law, and a new grandson who we are absolutely crazy about!
Our sweet life is here in north Alabama, but I love to travel wherever your event may take me!
The whimsical spunk of a child, the breathless beauty of a bride, the pudgy rolls of a happy baby, the joyful tear of a grandmother, the pure excitement of seniors, the overwhelming love of a parent, the sweet snuggles of engaged couples. WEDDINGS
Photographing your wedding day is both an honor and a serious responsibility. I love to capture moments and details that are not as obvious. I am very flexible and will bring positive energy to your day. I will observe your most flattering sides and will know how to bring out the best in you on your beautiful day. I have 20+ years experience so you can trust me on your most important day! Most of all, I am someone who can capture it all beautifully! Wedding photography is an investment for a reason. It's a day unlike any other in your life. Your kids, grandkids, and even great grandkids will smile upon these pictures. Your photos should tell your story and transcend any decade. I am a photographer who cares about your photos and overall experience as much as you do.

EVENTS
(birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, reunions, showers, other special events)
The fee for an event is $325/hour which includes complete coverage of the event: both posed and candid photography and a copyright free digital link of all edited images. For events outside the north Alabama area, there may be additional charges for travel and expenses.
SESSIONS
Outdoor sittings are best because of the beautiful natural light and timeless background. My favorite time to shoot is the hour just before sunset. The goal is for everyone to enjoy themselves during the shoot. Capturing true feelings, sweet expressions, and sincere relationships is the best! Please contact me if you have clothing or location questions. I'm here to help! To book a sitting, contact me with a few dates in mind and we'll go from there to work out a date and location that you'll love. I'm very flexible about the location and the number in your group. There is no additional charge for extra outfits or for large/multiple families! The session fee of $325 includes a copyright free digital link of all edited images.
PRINTS
All orders are printed with a matte finish, as it uses far less chemicals than glossy to process and is therefore better for our sweet planet!

BABY'S FIRST YEAR
Your sweet little one will change so quickly over their first year! If you schedule 4-6 sittings within their first year, the $75 sitting fee is waived. Just prepay $250 each time and you'll receive a copyright free digital link
of all the edited images (50-70) within 2 weeks. The shoots can vary in locations if you'd like. Newborn shoots are best in the home if possible. Remember to include yourselves, siblings, grandparents, and/or pets in any shoot you'd like! In fact, it's encouraged! Feel free to make one of your sittings a maternity session or even a "first days" session soon after coming home!
PRESCHOOLS
Does she scrunch up her cute nose when she smiles?
Do you lovingly lay down his cowlick every morning?
Do her sweet blue eyes melt your heart?
Does he have new freckles from playing ball this summer?
Does she only like to wear her favorite pink boots?
Nothing is more precious than your child's smile and unique personality.
The package price for preschools is $40 for six different 4x6 prints. Outdoor photography allows each preschooler time to warm up and show their own fun personality! Prints will be viewed at your child's school instead of an online gallery. You will receive a flier from your school announcing the days for both pictures and for viewing. Packages will not go home with your child for viewing. Additional prints may be purchased a la carte at current prices. I love to give parents images that capture their child's spirit so accurately that they wonder how I did it!
